my concern is - does barclays have any way of checking what i showed to other lenders.. i am woried will i go on fraudsters list and what will be the outcome on future applications with other lenders..

it was the biggest mistake i made - never had any adverse history

just followed someone advice and now getting worried over it .. i know in the end i made the decision

any help to get this sorted please.. !! thanks
  • If i was you i would go and hand yourself in at the nearest police station and take the documents you accidently filled in wrong, you might get away with a caution, then again you might get locked up in alcatraz, have your house took of you and have all your assets seazed.

But if it was me i wouldnt worry too much......:D

Firstly, don't take the advice of that particular someone ever again!

Secondly - your best bet is probably to take yourself off to a decent whole of market broker, explain what you've done, and see what he or she can do for you.

To answer your queston, yes. Barclays have a way to check other applications which is http://www.nhunter.co.uk/, as posted by our most gracious co-poster vigillant22, and it's likely that what you told Barclays will be in that system too.

The banks, the FSA and HMRC are all actively talking now (which they should have been doing for years IMHO) so what you have done is obviously an issue but exactly what impact it will have is hard to say unfortunately. A harsh lesson this one I feel but quite possibly not as harsh as the one that could end up being bestowed upon the accountant involved.
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!
  • thanks everyone - I am sending information request to N HUNTER , apparently you can request for information they hold about your history and is available at a mere cost of £10. My only hope now is - things don't get bad as they seem right now..!!
