Mouldy Airbed

Went camping with my ex-gf last year and tent (not me!) had dribbled a bit due to a small leak onto my airbed - packed it away and dried everything else...
but the airbed!
Opened it up at the weekend as I was camping with the new gf to find a very large Tim shaped mould patch (presumably where the wet sleeping bag was! Ooops...
Just went out and bought a 600ml bottle of stardrops from savers for 69p for the express purpose of cleaning the mould off. For your knowledge the airbed is one of these felted topped rubber types - bought from Aldi last year for the scandalous sum of £11.
Star drops say don't use on velvet (which I presume this is) but then again I've got nothing to loose. Can't just live with the mould as I'm asthmatic!
Any ideas the best way to tackle this?

hot water and washing up liquid should do the job (not too hot or it may melt!) scrub well with a scrubbing brush, rinse well and leave to dry outside, if the velvet looks a bit flat when dry brush with a dry small nail brush to raise the nap
At least that is what i would try!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

I'm more worried about getting the stain out and washing up liquid is fairly unlikely to do that! Will try washing up liquid first though to see what I can manage - but does anyone know why star drops work on everything but velvety type stuff? It feels fairly synthetic so I don't think it's felt.Tim0

The air bed is not 'real' velvet so I don't know why it would't work.
Bleach is my weapon of choice for mould. Thin bleach that is.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Milton or bruclens/WVP steriliser is ideal for getting mould/mildew off camping equipment. I had a mouldy inner tent and diluted bruclens did the trick.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0
