Thomas - its quite likely they will debit your account anyway even with a cancelled card (they'll revert to taking it straight from your account using the bank details you originally supplied when you took out the loan).
You need to open a new bank account with another unconnected bank and have your wages paid in there to keep your money safe. Once you've done that you can then try to arrange repayment plans.
Have a read of the first couple of posts of this thread - Dealing with Payday Loan Companies

hi, have been in a dmp for 5 years or so with payplan. One of my debts was an overdraft of around £700 with natwest. After paying £500 to them through payplan the balance is now over £1500. I have never had any kind of letter from natwest informing me of any charges they have added. I feel gutted about this as most of the other debts have either frozen interest and charges or at least the balance is reducing on others. Can i contest natwest over their unfairness or do i just shut up and pay it?0

Hi jimmy2bellies and thanks for your post.
If your wife isn’t named on the debt she doesn’t need to contribute towards them – you can just include your income and your contribution towards the expenditure.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Im hoping someone can give me some advice. Unfortunately iv been stupid enough to get caught in with payday loans (from 3 different companies) there is no way I can pay all 3 off they total to over £1200 inc interest. I have spoke to the companies but been told all they can do is charge me the interest and I pay the full amount on my next pay day, which obviously isnt solving the problem. Iv cancelled there direct debits and got a new bank card, waiting for there collections agents to contact me and just looking for advice on how to best deal with them?
Hi thomasb4 and thanks for your post.
Tixy has already given some great advice about what to do with your bank account.
Once you’ve done this, the best way to deal with them is to write to them explaining your situation. You can include a copy of your income and expenditure to show what you can offer and that you can’t afford any more – you can’t give them money that you haven’t got.
If you’d like some help with this or some more detailed advice you can use our online advice service Debt Remedy (http://www.cccs.co.uk/ref/drcu) or call our free helpline on 0800 138 1111.

!Hi edbling and welcome to the forum.
It’s definitely worth contacting them – even if they won’t refund any of the charges they should at least look to freezing them now.
You could also get in touch with Payplan as they might contact them on your behalf too.

I will owe £24k for tax this year (due 31st Jan) and want to raise extra capital on my care home business to pay it off. The bank I have the commercial mortgage with have asked on the application form if I owe any arrears of VAT? Do I declare that I want to raise capital to pay this off. I also need extra finances to manage the cash flow.0
