Splitting with partner and moving house, what are my options...

HELP!! I am splitting with my girlfriend after 4 years, we bought a house together 2 years ago and have now split. Does anyone know what my options are in terms of the mortgage, can I transfer our current mortgage to me and then downsize the amount to another property, that I can purchase myself. Or do I need to revert back to a first time buyer?

It's all down to the lender and if you fit their criteria after they assess you on yr own income & outgoings etc...and of course yr gf agreeing to come off mortgage
