Barking Dogs...

hi
it was here that I discovered at first hand the pitfalls of posting on an unmoderated forum - it's a bit like entering a public park expecting a quiet chat with friends, and then finding out that behind each bush lurks a rabid yet toothless dog waiting to pounce......
.....when one of these dogs identifies you as a victim, it comes out and starts barking at you for no reason which you can understand; others follow, and soon there is a pack of them around you, drowning out all normal conversation.
if you ignore them, or try to soothe them, they simply bark louder; and obviously you cannot reason with them because they are deafened by the sound of their own barking.
it is hard to work out how this activity satisfies them; it must be some kind of primitive adrenalin rush, I guess.
eventually, you realise that the reason there is such a concentration of these animals in that particular park is because all the parks you've used before have a dog warden, whose job is to eject the offending beasts; as so often happens, you don't always appreciate the value of other people's work until one day when they're not there!
be warned...
