I just scared myself so much. I just hit the back of someone. God was taking care of me as I did it so gently that neither bumper was marked and there was nothing to see. She didn't take my details, we just agreed it was such a minor bump there was nothing to say about it.

It would have been my fault - we moved forward at traffic lights and for some reason she stopped suddenly in the queue. I noticed and braked but narrowly missed missing her (IYSWIM).

I think that is one of my 9 lives gone for today. Now need to decide whether to do 2 hrs driving for work tonight (stay in hotel near work) or leave v early in the AM. Am v tired now (done 3hrs driving) so was coming home for a rest on the way - wished at that point I'd kept going!

Thank goodness so much I had done no harm. It was one of those stops where you jolt and think - "oh god, did I just hit that car?". She didn't get out, moved forward so I thought maybe it was not a bump. Then she stopped and got out to look so I got out too. We both looked and could see no marks on either car. I did say sorry, lots. :o

I presume now as she didn't take my details nothing can come of it. She seemed nice so I have no reason to think she would suddenly make up a story to claim off me.

  • Claire - your tea sounds lush. I think I'm having a chicken fajitas for tea.

I'm going to attempt making gingerbread tonight for the OH. Fingers crossed it turns out ok?

Katsu - I hope you're ok? Thankfully it was only a small bump. I doubt she'll track you down and make a claim.

Sammy - cars a right royal pain in the hoop!

Notty - well done on being debt free!! I love that style of men's shoes, verrrrry chic and I knew that would be the style you'd buy and we've never even met!! (at that price though you wouldn't need another pair for 10 years!!! :rotfl: )

LMC - That might have been the job advert I was sent a couple of weeks back....it was either 35k or 45k I can't remember to go to Afghan.

claire - the majority of those kind of emails are old hoaxes, chain emails, been doing the rounds for years - sometimes 10 years or more. Usually about women having a note on their windscreen or someone pretending to be policeman, some call from Visa, a virus that will wipe everything, every time you forward this 5p is given to cancer charities etc etc. Good advice from Kayleigh - google is your friend if you ever get anything like that, have a look on the Snopes website for more examples - there are tonnes of them!

I imagine so - I just felt worried that maybe she could make something up if she turned nasty, it all seemed fine as we were both very pleasant and I was very apologetic (after all, I was in the wrong :o)

Have just been outside with OH, he found a few teeny tiny marks in the dirt on the car so said I had definitely given her only a totally minor bump, as no damage was done. He said we just swapped dirt!
