Bouncyd!!! - many thanks - at least i now know. 6 years - is that since I paid the debt - ie less than 5 years to go.
Will lenders deal with me with this history in this period - or am i bestter sticking with my bank and seeing this thru?0 -
I'm afraid that I don't know what lender policies are, although I expect somebody else will be able to provide a view.
I would avoid making online applications for anything in the short term to avoid credit searches on your file as this will look as if you are desperate to borrow. For mortgage applications I would make an appointment with a couple of lenders and go in and discuss your personal circumstances with them.
You could also discuss your position with a mortgage broker who may be able to advise you - the only issue here is that from posts on MSE, some are better to deal with than others. You will need to dig around a bit. Somewhere on the site there is a guide to mortgages - start there.0
