Hi all
I made fruit crumble two days ago and as there was so much fruit and crumble mixture, I took inspiration from mbazs' thread and eeked it out to two dishes not one. It's only my daughter and me in the house and we haven't even finished the first one yet.
I have my oldest and best friend, who believe it or not I have only seen twice in RL before coming up from Kent on Thursday. Would the crumble last until then? Would it freeze?
I am trying to save money, throwing out a whole apple, rhubarb and peach crumble goes against the grain

To be on the safe side, freeze it.0

It should be fine until Thursday. When I make a big crumble it stays in the fridge all week and everyone just helps themselves.0

It lasts about 20 mins in my house. But maybe that's not exactly the type of answer you where looking for! :rotfl:0

I've frozen apple crumble before and it's been fine, if in any doubt when it's defrosted heat it up in the oven until it's bubbling and serve with custardWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0

Haha! TBH I didn't think the crumble would last this long, however my daughter seems to prefer sliced banana with custard rather than crumble and custard. Well, guess it means less cooking for me = easier life.
Hopefully my friend and her oh will be more appreciative on Thursday!
With it being Tuesday already it doesn't seem worth freezing it if I don't have to
Thanks for the responses0 -
If I was going to freeze it or leave in the fridge should I cook it first??0

if you are going to freeze it leave it uncooked, if putting in the fridge would cook first.Sealed pot challenge member 4370

I freeze both cooked and uncooked and get great results both ways. I love apple crumble but am now cooking for only me, I make it in smaller portions and freeze. It will keep the 4 days, no problem especially if your fridge is 5 degrees.0
