Uncle Fester began his course in September of 1997.
Uncle Fester was funded by part loan part grant
Uncle Fester was originally paying off the loan like a good boy then went abroad and ran into trouble
Uncle has not acknowledged he owes the debt for six years, not been contacted or not made a payment.
Uncle Fester was under 40 when he took out the loan.

Does this qualify for statue of limitations ?

Please do not reply with a morality lesson just facts. This is to help my uncle Fester he is a good guy just ran into some lady trouble:beer:

Uncle Fester is not coming back to the UK to work for many years. Uncle Fester would like to pay it back but is scared of massive over charges and interest rates. Can Uncle Fester just pay what he originally owes without fines or would you advise not to contact them ever again. Please be reasonable uncle Fester is not a rich man he is poor. Uncle Fester feels he should pay back what he promised to pay back but is poor and scared of fines and other such nasty things. Help fester and give good advice please

Only one fact - Uncle Fester needs to get a grip.

Assuming that no CCJ was obtained before the debt became statute barred, then yes.

Once it becomes statute barred, what you pay, when, or if ever, is entirely up to you.
