This won't suit everyone but a bit of info that is not made very public.

I read about this on another forum and phoned Butlins Minehead (it may include others) and they sent me a pricelist. Its expensive but may suit some people especially if you only want to go for 1 night to see a certain entertainment act. (I was looking for a way in for entertainment one evening for the kids as I have a holiday place nearby so didnt want accomadation and this may be the cheapest way for me ie pretend I am camping). By paying for 1 night I can use Butlins facilities over the 2 days, even though my "tent" has to go up and come down by certain times.

A one night pitch for 4 people in their own caravan or tent is either £45 or £75 depending on season inc entertainment passes. Weekend breaks are £75 to £249 and midweek breaks are £65 to £190. 7 nights are £140 to £390. Additional people are £7.50 to £10 depending on season.

Thought I would post this as even my local landlord (5 miles from Minehead) didn't know about this.

http://www.butlins.com/day-visitors/minehead/
family day ticket prices (you leave before eve entertainment), so by "camping" at low season I can more or less get 2 days and 1 nights entertainment for the same price.

Cheapest weekends fri -mon for a tent or caravan for 4 people is £75, dates 7 june to 15 july or 3 sept to 21 oct (except 10 sept weekend)

    SHHHHHH, don't tell everybody! ;)
Mainly because the camp site at Minehead isn't very big and as caravaning is becoming a growth industry, it is already becoming harder to get onto any site without booking months in advance.

I read about this on another forum and phoned Butlins Minehead (it may include others) and they sent me a pricelist. Its expensive but may suit some people.
We are going to Minehead on the 4th of July for 11 nights and it is going to cost us £205. Compare that to £736 for silver self catering or £676 for a silver room only (they don't have any standard accomodation left to compare).

Butlins have a caravan site at Skegness also but I am not sure if you can take a tent there, we have went there the last two years and I think it is a bit cheaper than Minehead. Bognor do not have a camp site.
Before you all rush out to buy a cheap caravan, please take into acccount storage (our friend keeps ours in their garden, saving us a fortune in secure storage), insurance and a towbar for your car and then you have to consider maximum tow weights for your car.

    HTH FiFi :)

That is a great price, cheaper than a one day day passe by all accounts!! And that only gets you in from 10am to 6pm! Nice.

I've spoken to Butlins, you have to call the resort and then speak to the Booking Shop.

I got a price of August Bank Holiday for 4 nights - £65 for 2 Ad & 2 Ch. I said 'what per night?' and she said 'no, for the entire break'. So I talked it over with my husband. Last weekend we had a night camping at the school as a fundraiser. I came home and dug out my Clubcard Vouchers and have used them to stay on site. I am a wimp, LOL, but being in a tent is NOT for me. 1 night in a tent is enough for me but £65 to take your caravan I'd be up for that - hubby won't get one though. Boo.

So there is a good price available starting Bank Holiday Monday, mid week, at Minehead if anyone is interested!!

We are off to Butlins Skegness in our caravan this year, we went last year and thought it was excellent value for money.

I am not sure how the other resorts are but at skegness the caravan bit is across the road from the main resort but they have a well lit, well maintained underpass that connects the two together, it is a tiny underpass really.

On the caravan park side there is a launderette, small shop, some sports fields, hire shop and a pub that does some entertainment, not the big names but a few redcoats come down and dance with the kids and there are live music acts and 18+ cash bingo.

As we are in Scotland and get scottish school holidays we are going 2/7 for a week and it is only costing us £160, which is for 2ad and 2ch and gets you access to all that you would get if you were staying in a self catering chalet.

Skegness do not take normal tents but do take trailer tents and caravans are allowed awnings, there is a fair amount of space between each pitch and it all seems level. The toilets and showers could be doing with updating, they are really just a portacabin.

Just to let you know, it seems that the "big name" style weekends are NOT included if you go into a caravan or mobile home.
You can stay, but you can't get in to see the big groups as you need wrist bands.
This is for the big weekends, not family weeks. EG eighties, club 18-30 etc.

Prices starting from only £50 per night, all based on four people including electric hook-up and entertainment passes.
All of our pitches are aligned with the standard Camping & Caravan Club size of 5 meters by 9 meters. If your tent, caravan or caravan and awning is larger than this area you will need to book an additional pitch to accommodate it. During Schools Out, Half term and Public Holidays, and all Big Weekends, the extra charge for an additional pitch is the full price stated in the price grid opposite. For all other dates the extra charge is 50% of the price stated in the price grid opposite. Additional charges will be applied on arrival if the correct requirement is not stated at time of booking.
    Please note:
The touring park is closed between the 1st November 2011 and April 2012.

We have been told we can only book 7 night breaks or individual nights at £50 and they are insisting we book a larger pitch which is an additional charge. What Butlins seem to be forgetting is everyone is getting hammered for fuel prices and it costs a lot more when you are towing a big lump, especially from Scotland to Minehead.
