@ayla261 - you'll need to pay the postage yourself, and then persue the seller for a refund including what you paid for return postage. That is if the book is not as described...
Hope this helps.0 -
Re-using business envelopes - not sure what you mean by this, do you mean business reply envelopes, or PPI'd envelopes?
Regarding buying bulk amounts of stamps just before a price rise - it'll soon be much harder to do this1 ;-)[/QUOTE]
I think the suggestion was using business reply envelopes.
Why will it be harder to buy stamps before a price rise?0 -

Business reply envelopes can't really be used other than to the address printed on the envelopes as the postage is reconcilled at the receiving end's Delivery Office.
I can't really say why it'll be harder to bulk buy stamps immediatley prior to a price rise. Let's just say "measures are in place to help prevent this".0 -

Hi
I run a mailroom at a University. In my experience the recorded service is not worth paying the extra 70p as often the recorded mail arrives in the sack with the general mail (i.e it's not signed for). We have also had incidents where we've sent items using this service, they haven't arrived & Royal Mail are unable to track or locate them. !! Having challenged the Royal Mail about this on several occasions I have come to the conclusion that this service very much depends on the efficiency of the local sorting office. (or perhaps there's a conspiracy to encourage the use of Special Delivery ).Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
I rarely use stamps now since the online thing came in, what a brilliant system it is!Cinders2001 wrote:What if the glue had become ineffective or you were sticking stamps onto a rough parcel?
If I did have that problem I would just sellotape a piece of stiff card to the parcel having stuck the stamps to it first, and if the glue wasn't sticking I would use some Pritstick which is completely undetectable if used carefully.

I don't lick stamps and have always used glue sticks - didn't realise RM don't like it! I don't know of any problems after I used glue to stick my stamps rather than lick it. What exactly is the problem with using glue? I sometimes use sellotape, but I take it around the stamp - the middle of it can still be stamped/defaced.0
