Life Line Screening

Has anyone any experience with this set-up?.
I've received an invite to a private health screening locally and for £139 they will do various tests to see if I'm at risk of such things as a stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm, heart rhythm screening and something called Peripheral atrial disease screening. These are apparently tests which a doctor would refer you for if you showed symptoms but by which time it may be too late.
I'm just wanting to find out if it's reputable and if it's going to a waste of money. The reason I'm considering it is because my mum died of an aneurysm and I'm becoming more aware of my health and potential problems as I get older.

Your own GP will or should know your family history and have more of an idea whether you are prone.
Hell aneurysm and stroke run in my family. My mother was coming up to her 61st birthday when she died, her sister was 63 the younger brother 40. My grandfather on my mother's side took a stroke at 40 lived but was disabled and could not walk, took another stroke and died at 70.
Would I consider paying Life Line money, no.
Go talk to your GP as I said about your worries. Mine at the age of 51 decided to put me on the statins, great things despite the stories in the papers. Its never to late to change your diet and lifestyle rather than paying these guys £139 pounds. No doubt they will tell you if you pay this more and that more we will test for black death etc.0 -
