Great deal - typical that they don't do the one country i wanted! Lebanon!
Reckon it would work for there if i picked a neighbouring country instead, like Israel?

Why is it 'typical'? Most countries aren't covered in the Beta.

The service is run by Jajah; maybe they have a suitable product for you.
  • Thanks so much menufrenz. I've registered (and tested it out) and am now able to make unlimited calls to my daughter's mobile in Australia from my 02 mobile for just £5 per month!! :j

Doesn't say anything about mobiles though - it says mobiles for some countries are allowed but not for all but reports on other forums seem to say that, so far, mobiles have been ok for all countries.

If you are calling other countries frequently and want to have access to a variety of both countries and numbers then look Talk Talk international plan (lnd line). I use this and we pay £21.50 a month that includes bhroadband, free UK calls (except 084/7 and mobiles), and calls to the countries listed above, max of 1 hour, but unlimited. If you want to talk longer than an hour, you just hang up and call back. HTH someone.

You can get a similar functionality using Skype To Go, so long as you have plenty of unused UK landline minutes to make the initial leg of the connection which is an 0208 number. Call any landline in one selected country for £4/month or unlimited Worldwide for £8.00/month (but the country list is different from the above - it is almost worldwide but excludes 3 or 4 high-fraud countries).

I am already using Skype To Go and it works well - can call any landline number and mobiles in some places e.g. U.S.
  • Would this work if you went abroad yourself with your o2 number and wanted to call back home?
  • Try Rebtel - recommended by MSE - I think you'll find it cheaper and very easy to use - in fact it's pretty seamless and very very inexpensive

Do you really use Rebtel hale.berry09?

"Dial the local number. You're then connected to the person you're calling and should ask them to immediately call the number they see displayed on their mobile. If they're on a landline, it will send them an e-mail for the first call..."

So both caller and called have to dial local numbers in their own countries at the same moment... this dodge I can imagine working for a few people in special circumstances, but is it a substitute for the above eat as much as you like suggestions?
