Great list! I can relate to several of those from my pre-MSE days, especially the lunches! Do join us on the work lunches thread, there are some great ideas floating round.

I was on a week 1 month 1 tax code from sept when I started my new job until I got my p60 this week. I am due a tax rebate but don't know how much and this will be my first month on a proper tax code so it'll be nice to see what my actual take home pay is....

Had a real slip up on friday - Went to go out for literally 1 or 2 sociable drinks with the guys at work - got home at 2am the next morning £40 poorer. moral of story

I AM NEVER LEAVING THE HOUSE TO GO TO THE PUB WITH MY CARD IN MY WALLET OR MORE THAN £10 IN CASH! then I can't stay for more than a few.
Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!

Also does £25K per year really work out as £1200 per month. I earn £25K per year and I take home over £1500 per month. Admittedly I have children so my tax code will be different, but even so - are you sure this is right?

I earn £27000 nd take home £1460 pm month after my student loan and pension

    Hi Treacle,
Sorry to hear about the expensive night out! I guess if you put it down to experience though it will end up saving you a lot. So much seems to be knowing (and avoiding ;)) our weak points!
Brilliant about the energy bills! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T Certainly one to celebrate :)
    keep up the good work

I borrow my magazines from the library. You can get them on a week's loan, mine has all sorts such as the girlie monthly ones like Cosmo and Glamour, another one I get out is BBC Good Food and saves me a fortune!
