this would be great to take on holiday abroad though - buy a local sim and then if you loose it or break it, not much of a loss! Definately getting one for our africa trip later in the year :)

Dont know if you could use it abroad ?, it isnt Triband I dont think

From the research I did earlier - Kenya and the UK work on the same frequency (900MHz) so if the phone is unlocked it should work fine. If you want to travel to somewhere like America or Canada who on different frequencies, it won't work as they're different bands.

I did take an unlocked O2 handset to Kenya 6 years ago and it worked fine (it was a cheap old handset and wasn't Tri or Quad band so fingers crossed I'm right) :)
    Wins so far:
:)£100 M&S Voucher, £10 Mama's & Papa's Voucher, £50 Mother Care Voucher, £50 Very Voucher, £65 dining out Voucher, 3 months of Purina Cat food, cinema tickets, silk scarf, Frusli bars,

Ordered one last week and to be honest it is rubbish. The screen is too dark and you cannot see the numbers or names. Not even a backlight on it. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting too much for the price, but these are rubbish.

Yours is broken, mine arrived with a nice blue backlight, very easy to read the screen. Get a replacement.

It's an okish phone, you can make calls and send texts and thats it. I'm using it as an emergency phone to keep in the car and to activate free sims from quidco etc deals to get cashback.

Mine also has a blue backlight, so yours is definitely faulty.

I think it's good for the money. Small and very light. Very basic but thats what it is designed to be. Not very good battery life, but again its designed as an emergency phone - not for everyday use.

If you have realistic expectations, I think you would be pleasantly surprised

I bought one in store and they are so small they will stay deep in a pocket, etc. No problems reading the nscreen so far and their stand by time seems good. So, from own experience for over a month .... I recommend!
