How to enter an answer...?

I just read mrbadexamples thread and it reminded me of something I really want to know:

[Hope this makes sense] - You know when you enter a competition and there are three multiple choice answers, eg:

a) cat
b) dog
c) mouse

and then in the comp form, there'll be a text box in whih to enter your answer... does it matter HOW you write it?

Do you put (if the answer was a) cat)

a)

or

cat

or a) cat

This really perplexes me!!!! I don't know if they use automated systems to check correct answers and if maybe I was messing up!

Any help much appreciated!!!

I type in either way, and don't worry about it. The automated process will probably look for A) cat and cat, but I'm not sure:)
