I agree, I'd just be so estatic if I won a camera at all for free!
But on the other hand it is a competition and it's very irresponsible and inexcusable to give away second hand goods! So I completely understand what everyone's saying, if it were myself winning the camera, I would complain!

Yes, i would complain too if the camera wasn't working or looking broken.

I'm pretty sure McCain wouldn't deliberately send out seconds. Probably the supplier pulling a fast one.

Don't have a microwave myself but I oven-cooked them on gas7 for 12 minutes. Tasted pretty good for oven chips.:p

Just took my 5 vouchers to Tesco - the chips sell at £1.27/box but the voucher takes £.170/box off your bill, i also used a doritos voucher, bought a couple of other things but after using my vouchers my bill came to a massive 1p!!!

My local Somerfield sell them for £1.90! Will try Tesco or Sainsburys I think lol not that keen on them, ok oven cooked though

I have sent a mail to McCains (there is a customer relations email address on the letter you get with your prize). Hubby took some pics of me doing Race For Life today, and it worked fine, we were just a bit miffed when it came and it looked like it had been kicked around the warehouse! The box wasn't sealed, it had a huge yellow RECONDITIONED sticker on it and all the stuff inside was messy and held together with elastic bands. Even the manuals had been used.

If McCains are advertising a competition on their Micro Chips which you have to buy to play then it isn't unreasonable to assume the prizes will be new. My camera has only a 6 month warranty as it is reconditioned which is hardly fair. I am very very grateful for my win but as I say, a bit miffed that it isn't new.

On a plus side I will be selling my chips vouchers for 50p a time at work and donating the cash to Cancer Research - I do this with all the wins I can't use or are a duplicate
