Debt Free at Last!!

Hey everyone!

On Friday I made my final payment to the Bank to repay my debt.

In August 1997 I borrowed £21,500 to go to college. Here I am, 9 years later and finally debt free. I watched all of my peers start work and have normal grown up lives while I studied. It was not easy not being able to afford to join in with what they were all doing, working evenings and weekends just to have a reasonable diet!

Now, after a long slog, I'm finally doing the job I wanted to do and enjoying it too.

It feels weird - not really sinking in yet. Perhaps other debt free folks can tell me when it really hits home please!

I don't really know what to do with myself now, but I know that I can start looking forward to the rest of my life with my amazing OH who has supported me through all these years.

Good luck to everyone else in the pursuit of debt-free-ness.

NMS

    Well done :)
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
