Hi there,
I have some leather boots about knee length but the top of one is torn, i'm just wondering is it do-able to cut them down a bit and hem by hand, i haven't got a sewing machine at the mo.
If so what would i need to do this and how please as not sure how i could hem the boot top, but would be a shame to chuck them as loads of life yet
Thanks for any help x

I know it's not fully OS but why not take them to a cobblers for advice and a quote, they may surprise you with what they can do!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Could you glue them rather than hem them? Something like evo stik might do it?0

I can't really glue them as its torn downwards but never thought of going to cobblers with them, so i may give it a go and see what price they come up, can't see it being that dear, thankx for the tip though0

Yep, a proper shoe-menders should be able to either patch them or cut them down and hem them. This is definitely not a job for a novice without the appropriate tools, your hands would end up torn to shreds. Plus, by then you'd hate the boots with a vengeance0
