Buy the store own brand - does exactly the same job and you're not paying for the name and advertising. Tesco £1.13 per 100ml so would be £3.39 and Asda's own brand is £1 per 100ml = £3. Why pay for a name - same active ingredients.

Are the ingredients exactly the same ?. I've never tried stores own cos just assumed they're weren't as good. Gaviscon works for me but of course I would like something cheaper if they work. Thanks

I'd like to use a store brand but have never seen any chewable tabs to use the same ingredients as Gaviscon. I reckon it's the sodium alginate in Gaviscon that actually works. Anything else is just expensive Rennies imo.

ETA: I see that the Tesco liquid does have the same active ingredients as Gaviscon now. Here's hoping they bring out a portable version!

    It's only a game

It's always best to check but almost certainly yes. It is pointless a supermarket having it's own manufacturing plants for products so they always use existing brands. Morrisons jars of curries are made in the Pataks factory.
