Forget about holidaying abroad, the rate of the petrol price increase, many wont be able to go on holiday in the UK.
I would like justification of why tax on petrol is so high.
Indeed, it would be good to see transparancy for every penny taken in and ecery penny spent.
That would probably be the best way to identify wastage and invoke people to take an interest and raise concerns.:wall:

I'd ask why in the private rental system:
1) Does it take landlords at least a few months to evict tenants who don't pay rent/fail to leave property at end of tenancy?
2) Do tenants have no simple and effective course of action against a landlord who fails to keep the property in reasonable condition and repairs in a timely fashion?
PS Sorry, on re-reading thread, I see request to respond elsewhere...ooops

It's possibly coming to those in England, Wales and Northern Irelend.
In Scotland, landlords have to register, with part of the requirements is that they must be fit and proper
https://www.landlordregistrationscotland.gov.uk/Pages/Process.aspx?Command=ShowHomePageTo be registered, owners and their agents must be fit and proper to let residential property. Local authorities must take account of any evidence that the person has:- Committed any offence involving fraud, dishonesty, violence or drugs
- Practised unlawful discrimination in connection to any business
- Contravened any provision of the law relating to housing, or landlord and tenant law, and the person’s actions, or failure to act, in relation to any antisocial behaviour affecting a house they let or manage, and must take account of the fact and nature of any agency arrangement.
If you let property in more than one local authority area, the authorities will share information to ensure they have all relevant details, but each authority will make its decision independently.
alsoThe system will make sure that all landlords meet minimum standards and will remove the worst landlords from the sector. It will allow tenants and neighbours to identify and contact landlords of private rented property, and provide information on the scale and distribution of the sector in Scotland for the first time.:wall:

Why does the Bank of England print money, Out of thin air? And then loan it to our government at interest?
Why can't the government print it's own money? As an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.0 -
Why can't the government print it's own money?
It does.
The Government owns the Bank of England, and uses the Bank that it owns to print the money that it needs.
If you need to educate yourself on the ownership and governence of the Bank of England might I suggest you read the Bank of England Act of 1998, which is available at the Office of Public Sector Information website.

Why can't the government print it's own money?
The bank of England is wholely owned by the UK government, and a proportion of its profits is remitted to the treasury on a quarterly basis. The rest is retained for monetary operations and increasing reserves.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Immigration = close the gates it's long overdue. (IT NEEDS ADDRESSING)
Benefits culture= many families are into 3rd generation wasters, young kids are still having kids and relying on the state for their "entitlements"...
Who ever wins the election must see this needs addressing as it is out of hand.
There are good honest hard working people who live virtually week to week and don't get what these people get.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0
