Q- can I include NI in BR?

OR interview tomorrow , hope I've got everything I'll need
Before I went BR I realised I'd not paid NI since my bank account was shut down - I had rung them to change it and was expecting billing, but apparently something wasn't set up right.....
Anyways is it worth asking if this can be included in BR?
or am I better of in the long term (pension contribution wise) trying to pay it back?
Many thanks

Hi lbm
Good luck with the interview tomorrow..
Sorry I don`t know about NI contributions but it is a good question ....does anyone else know?0 -
The can be included in BR, more details here as to how many years NIC's you need for full state pension:

Angel - hope everything has gone OK with you and it's plain sailing.
JCS1 - thanks for that, raised the question and explained why it wasn't paid and it will be included - I know I'll have more years contribution so will be OK in the future.
The interview took a couple of hours and I'm so thankful I got everything together in an organised fashion so it was easy to refer to, esp because I'm self employed so needed to show books etc.
It was nerve-wracking and thankfully had taken some tissues with me
but it was OK, OR will review my books regularly or if something changes.
OR was polite & professional with a sense of humour which helped a lot
Anyways all done AFAIK, hubby treated me to a lunch and going to sleep off that glass of wine now I am finally feeling proper relief and the light (from the end of the tunnel) is well & truly shining :j

Hi lbm, So pleased it went well. My OR had a sense of humour too, it does help!
Hope you still stay with us, as I would miss your sense of humour!
Best wishes.
