    They will likely charge you £12 late fees each month. + interest and potentially only agreed charged, and a default on your credit file.

    They do not have to agree to anything, as the agreement was the contract you had signed and defaulted on. Payday loan companies aren't very understanding.
    Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

    as I said before, I cannot afford what they are asking as I have had a change in circumstances, I am doing the best that I can.

    Then consider speaking to national debtline see if will help you out even if only a small DMP to see if they can get them to stop interest and charges if only briefly.
    But this is the trap with payday loans, things change or you can't afford it and it goes up and up and up in charges and interest.
