Following an AIP can they make requests.....

We have an AIP on a joint mortgage and the survey has been carried out (which we had to pay for) and apparently the credit check is all fine.

We have sent 3 months back statements and all the usual docs.

A couple of questions. What could happen if from the survey they feel the house isnt worth it. The house does need work but nothing structural.

Also what other kind of things cause a decline at this stage? Could they make requests instead of a full decine. Such as pay of X amount on a loan etc

Thanks

Depends on the lender. In 2010 you have to be ready for anything.

They can request anything and they can decline for a number of reasons. The most common would be that you have told them something different to the paper work you have sent in.

They will do the valuation and if it comes in short you can appeal. You need to show houses of that type in the same or similer location that have sold for the price your paying. But it is hard to appeal at the mo.

It sounds silly, but you will just have to wait, keep in touch with them regarding processing and they will do the reastr
