High spec LAPTOP £499 reduced from £799

From Thursday 10th August Lidl stores throughout the UK will have a high spec laptop computer for £499

It carries a 3 year warranty with telephone hotline which for me makes it worth more than anything else I've seen that offer only one year.

different regions have different spec.. some of them are 100gb HD and 1gb RAM - and a lot more expensive..

Also - these are MSI rebrands - from the megabook S range..

Is this a sub-notebook though with a smaller screen? It sounds a lot like this and screen size isnt mentioned in the Lidl specs.

Its says Brilliant WXGA display (whatever that means)
    1280 x 800 pixel resolution
    16:10 Wide-Screen.

If I had £499 to spare I'd go for it

You have a computer, TV, radio, DVD recorder, card reader, modem, USB 2.0, firewire, win xp, DivX, nero, 3yr warranty and much more

12" screen seems a bit small to run at 1280X800 (so I'd need to see it running before even thinking about buying it)

Also, its reduced from £699 as I remember looking at them the last time they had them in, at £699 :D

You put in the postcode of your nearest shop, then it saves it as a cookie for the offers page. Click it each few days for the updated offers.
Vinylmusic's link defaults to my own nearest store where they're not doing the laptop however....but they are doing the latest Targa desktop.

I dont work for targa or lidl so I have no special interest in promoting their items but I know a good deal when I see one.
I cant afford it now otherwise I'd buy one.

I cant understand why everyone is so negative.
you can always buy one and if its not what you expect you are within your rights to take it back.
I believe I've seen it written in their stores somewhere "satisfaction or refund"
If you do end up taking it back just make sure its in exactly the same condition (packaging as well) as you got it and in reasonable time.

The only negative points I can see from buying from stores like Aldi or Lidl is that you cant pay by credit card which means you lack the protection you'd otherwise get. So its only cash or debit card
The staff are not trained to sell such goods so you cant ask technical questions and get a sensible answer

    One other point
Sometimes they dont always stock up well on such offers. I went to a store to buy an advertized sat dish/receiver at a bargain price 10 minutes after the store opened. A sales person admitted that they only had 4 and they flew out as soon as the customers were let in.

I think these stores do it on purpose just to get people in. I'm sure that it would be illegal to advertize something and have none at all but they seldom stock enough to meet the demand.

I know they had plenty in my local store the last time they were in some months ago and they were £699 then

This is incorrect as you have been able to use credit and debit card at both stores for some time now.
