Difference in living cost between cities

Hi all,
I had to move from Norwich to Cambridge because of my job. Obviously the cost of living is much higher in Cambridge, and I am trying to quantify that more precisely. Does anybody know an index that offers this kind of information? Alternatively, it must be possible to find out average prices for purchasing or renting a house, musn't it? Where?
Any comments/ideas/suggestions more than welcome.
Thanks in advance,
A
