Wool insulation

Hi, we are looking at putting loft insulation in a house that we are buying and am looking for some advice. I was thinking of using the black mountain wool insulation, can it be used to top up on ordinary insulation, or do we need to remove the old insulation and put new wool insulation down to the correct depth? Does anybody have any recommendations where to buy from (or where to avoid)? Also is it possible to get grants etc, I know our council has an offer on insulation, but it is for the rock wool type.

Thank you

Drop them an email and they'll be happy to answer any questions you might have and you can compare prices with the Welsh stuff.
