Hi. I'm looking to buy a wireless graphics tablet mainly for handwriting recognition feature to assist my child with schoolwork. Hoping that this will speed up work and presentation. Wacom seems to dominate the market for this type of thing but seemingly at a cost. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Cant offer any advice, sorry. But I have seen a boy using one.He triesd to explain it to me but I didnt really grasp it as he ws writing in chinese letters on a little pad with a stylo, reminded me of an old etch a sketch type toy my kids once had!(loads smaller of course)
I remember now, it was called Magnadoodle!
Anyhow, I'd be interested to learn what they do and how it can help with homework.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Wacom is good .
I got the intuos 4 by wacom for my daughter .And she uses it for most of her art work.
I think it would be overkill for what you want.
A pen and some practice books would be far better ... and an hour spent practising with them.0 -
Hey there
I'm a graphic designer and my other half bought me a graphics tablet recently. It's the "Bamboo Fun" one from Wacom. I'm also intruiged as to how it will help with homework! I do use it in work for navigating graphics programs and creating artwork but for general work and online browsing/navigation it's probably not any better than a £20 mouse.
Amazon UK: £80

You could also try ebay. I looked there now and there's a bidding war going on for one starting at £31, perhaps you could get it for less than the £80 suggestion above.0
