Council tax overpayments due to end of tenancy

in Cutting tax
Hi all,
My tenancy agreement ends in August, but my Council Tax bill is for the whole financial year made in 10 monthly payments.
My problem is this: if I pay according to these instalments then by the end of my tenancy agreement I will have paid significantly more than my fair share for that period.
What can I do?
I know it's possible to set up a direct debit and pay in 12 monthly installments, but my bill is now due today and would have to wait till Monday to set up the direct debit.

When you vacate the address, inform the local authority. The account will cease and any credit will be forwarded to your new address/ or transferred to your new account if you stay in the same area.2 Tickets to Blackrock Masters Tennis:j0

Also, if you move out a week or two before the end of the tenancy and leave the property empty and unfurnished, make sure you inform the council and they should give you a discount on that period.0
