Cosmetic Surgery

Where do I start with this? I want to have implants (breast) and have no idea where I should start looking and where I should avoid. I'm hoping someone here can help. I went to my GP for advice and got no-where so don't know where else to go from here really.

I'm not looking at this from a money saving angle. Obviously I want a good price but I don't want the cheapest, I want the best results. I'm not wanting to go big - I simply want to restore what pregnancy and breastfeeding robbed me of ;)!!

Does anyone have any experience of this, good or bad it will all help me. I don't know anyone who has had this kind of surgery so am completly stumped on this. Help please :)

I went through BUPA, (nose job, not breasts) and I can't recommend them enough. I went to my GP to double check, she asked who it was. I said Mr Knight, and she smiled and said 'Simon Knight, yes he's excellent'. They only use specialist surgeons who are registered with BAPs and BAAPs. I had been for a consultation with transform and none of their surgeons are registered, in fact it's difficult to find any proof they are surgeons at all. Mr Knight told me they did a lot of corrective surgery from people who had gone to the 'high street' surgeons and had botch job.

Nuffield are supposed to be good too...most specialist surgeons will be registered with one of BUPA or Nuffield.

I would also recommend using someone like bupa who will only use qualified plastic surgeons. Not many people realise but anyone can claim to be a cosmetic surgeon without the qualifications! Check this before any other consideration- use a plastic surgeon not a cosmetic one.

could u not try to get it done on the nhs for free? my friends cousin got hers done, apparently because she had issues with them as they were lop-sided, but she showed me them before she got them done and i didnt think there was anything wrong with them! i think if they are really annoying you the way u are and are affecting u you can get them done on the nhs

Personally I think taxpayer's money should be spent on something a bit important than boob jobs.

There would have to be a clinical reason for cosmetic treatment to be done on the NHS. This reason could be physical or psychological, but it certainly would not be trivial.

Indeed, but it is one of the reasons why the NHS is doomed to failure.

Unless it get's back to 'life or death', there's no way we can afford it. Unfortunately, that's not a vote winning policy though.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • There is a really good forum at justbreastimplants.com. A lot of people on there are from the UK and I think there is a section recommending surgeons. You will get a lot of good advice on there.
Well I can't stand by the side
