Order (or download to save the charity's resources) a free booklet which lists all BUAV approved ethical companies who do not test their products on animals, or have any association to those that do.

my mum has one of these carries it around nicely telling shoppers about products that test, she not an activist and doesnt do it nastly but boy is it embarrassing

it is important to remember though, that buav (british union for the abolition of vivisection) is not a charity and receives no government or lottery funding.

"The BUAV is unable to gain charitable status due to a court ruling in 1947. Following a challenge by the Inland Revenue, the House of Lords ruled that anti-vivisection organisations could not be charitable because the work of these organisations was not for the “public benefit”, one of the criteria necessary to register as a charity."

thank you op and all of you who respond, i am totally against any kind of animal cruelty and definatly wouldnt want to buy anything that involved it in any way, i didnt know about this little book but you can be sure i will be showing it to the world and its wife and i will also be able to make my purchases much more selectively. great find

you will be suprised what things are tested on animals, my mum will not but anything from any company associated with animal testing. she doesnt even bank with certain to banks because they fund the companys. I try not to buy anything that do test but it is hard.
