Northern Rock mortgage

I currently have a Northern Rock fixed rate deal which is coming to an end in August. As Northern Rock are no longer doing new competetive deals this means I will either have to automatically transfer to their SVR or change mortgage lenders. However, my husband was made redundant Oct 2008 due to company liquidation and this caused us to fall behind with some payments to creditors (NOT WITH MORTGAGE PAYMENTS). We now pay for our unsecured debt through a debt management agency and I am now worried that new mortgage lenders will be difficult to find. Ideally what we would like to do is to remortage and use the equity on our house to make offers to our creditors to wipe off the outstanding debt so that we will only have the mortgage left to pay but dont know where we will stand with new mortage lenders. I was hoping that our 11 year history of good mortgage payments will go in our favour but ive no idea if this will be relevant. Any ideas please?

I would also agree that any good credit is instantly wiped out once you go on these plans.

I had the same issue back i 2007 but funnily enough Northern Rock was the only major lender who would take me on.
