Belgo is the fun Belgian restaurant where you pay the price that you arrive.

If you like mussels and decent beer then it's definitely the place to go! They also do some other nice dishes that are always fresh and served well. I've been to them for years and never had a problem.
Check out the website for more info - they have the locations (nearest one to Tottenham Court is the Holborn one I think. Just further west and right opposite Holborn tube).

PS Another amazing place to eat is the Cafe in the Crypt in St Martin in the Fields (Trafalgar Square). It's fresh food every day, really gorgeous and hardly frequented by tourists at all. Head for St MITF and it's downstairs hidden away. A London gem that's for sure!0 -
When ever I go to central London, I love the buffets. This may not be your kind of thing though. Pizza hut do a £3.99 eat as much Pizza and pasta as you want and their large soft drinks are free refills when you buy them.
You can upgrade to including salad as well for £5.49
Times are between 12:30 and 15:30 (varies)
Deep Pan Pizza is where I usually go as I prefer their buffet, they have more choice, fruit, nachos, more types of pasta etc for £6.49 but no free refills
They may not be high class but its still quite good valueIf freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0 -

I can second this - I regularly go the the Stockpot. just off of Leicester Square and there's another in Soho. There are normally a couple of clones around them that try to undercut them. 3 course meal is about £7, basic but substantial.
There's also the Italian Buffet, 26 Romilly Street, W1D5AJ, which I believe is about £6 for lunch and £8 for dinner all-you-can-eat. You serve yourself from the buffet and the staff bring round freshly cooked delicacies including Crostini, Spicy Sausages, Griddled chicken, fish etc. V good value!
Another place I was familiar with was Cactus, 83a Haverstock Hill, NW3 4RL, which used to serve a very good quality Mexican Buffet for the eccentric price of £4.88. I think it went up to about £7 a couple of years back and last time the atmosphere was not what it had been but probably still worth a look.
Hope you find something good to munch on!;)
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
Just round the corner from The Stockpot is another gem called The Cork and Bottle, entry is on street level and you go down stairs to what looks like a wine celler, cheap food with excellent wines.0

On the Euston Road (top of Tott Ct Rd, turn left at Warren St Tube), there is a Thai Chinese Vegetarian buffet. Five quid and a free soft drink. Absolutely fantastic food - I go there myself about once a week.:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0

If you buy Time Out, all this month they have had buy one main meal get one free at Wagamama and there are a few around central London (soho leicester square, covent garden). You can have free green tea or tap water and that works out to be really cheap. Belgo's is yummy though! I think stop the clock finishes at round 6:30pm though, so you need to get in early.0
