Thanks every one. It was a great success. I made hummus for the starter, followed by oven roasted mediterranean veg with tomato cous cous and harissa sauce, and for pud made a peach crumble with custard. Everyone enjoyed it and it was easy to prepare.0

I am truly happy that the meal went well - must have been the excellent company along with the good food.Sarahsaver wrote:I meant as a host i would be annoyed! If I were too fussy I would not expect people to bend over backwards to cater for me. When I was a vegan I used to take a jar of marmite everywhere with me!
:rotfl: how true this is I recently had to make an overnight trip to Bristol and took all of my own food with me cos I knew that the motorway service station wouldn't have anything I could eat, nor would the school where we were visiting. I do my damnest not to impose my dietry preferences on others and always try and provide them with food they are comfortable with. This often means meat but then why should I insist that they don't eat meat when they visit me as they don't insist that I eat it when I visit them if you get what I mean.True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. And check the E numbers as some of those are derived from animal or dairy sources.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Luckily I already use the pure soya marge at home anyway, and bought soya milk for the custard. Will admit I didn't check the custard powder, but I'm sure they know what they can/can't eat from these type of things.0
