I have tried so many times and have smoked for 40 years.

Have you went to your gp and got nicotine patches? I think the stop smoking groups are supposed to be good too.
Another good thing is to put all the money you would have spent on ciggies into a biscuit tin or piggy bank...you'll be amazed how quickly it adds up!

deciding to actually give up is half the battle, personally I prefer the chewing gum to the patches , found that the patches fell off , became itchy and occasionally forgot to use them
I use niquitin cq gum - cheapest i found was Asda , even cheaper than the online pharmacies.
I've been a non smoker since 24th December.
Have also heard a lot of good reports about Alan Carr's book

I gave up 25 years ago when I realised that 40 a day habit was costly as well as bad for my health. It took me 3 attempts but I finally managed to stop myself using sheer will power. It's hard but well worthwhile. I now don't even bother with smokers all around me.
