Should I cut my grass this weekend?

Hi,
As the title says really! I see by the forecast that the weather is to be nice and dry this weekend and I was wondering if I should cut my grass?
Just moved into first home in September and not really sure when to start cutting it - heard some people out about 2 to 3 weeks ago cutting theirs but I thought that it was still a bit too cold and was worried about the frosts etc killing it if I cut it?
Have you cut yours yet or when will you begin to cut it? I have some feed that I want to put down so if I cut it, I assume that I'll feed it after the cut making sure to water the feed in (or let the rain do it if it's on it's way)?
Hopefully it will be soon time for some nice beer out in the garden!
Thanks!

Yeah cut away but not too low on the first cut.. I always leave a good 1 ~ 1 1/2" on first cut and then get lower/tighter as the weather gets better and grass grows quicker0

No problems cutting it now, just be careful with the feed. Depending on what you have, most will scorch the grass if the blades are wet so wait until it dries out a bit after cutting......What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0

we cut ours 2 weeks ago but that was cause we got a new lawnmower and my hubby wanted to try it out lolDEC GC £463.67/£450

Cut away. The only time you need to worry about frost is not to walk on the grass when there's a frost or snow on it. Most winters I cut my grass about every 6 weeks when it's a dry day and the ground isn't too soft - needless to say this winter hasn't been normal so I cut it in late October and then again a fortnight ago. Grass loves regular cutting as long as it's not cut too short. I often hear my friends' husbands telling them "it's not the right time to cut the grass yet, it's not good for it" and that's because they hate doing it - I like it - I've a big garden and a powered petrol mower and it's a great walk.
Very good for it at this time of year is to rake out all the dead stuff from around the roots with a spring tine rake. And I always leave it at least 3 days after cutting before feeding.0 -
Yeah, go ahead and cut it, but make sure it's on the highest setting. Thereafter, cut it regularly, and not too short, as it'll only burn and look horrible!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Believe it or not - that's more or less what Mrs Witless did say! It's still fairly damp underfoot so the extra week won't do it any real harm.
As to grass cutting - IMHO that's what juvenile relatives/dependants are for.0 -
cut mine today , kept it quite high and it looks great :-). wasn't damp at all.0

Thanks everyone - give it a trim at the weekend, and will prob cut it again next week a bit lower if it stays dry!Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34
