Tesco Loan Application - Advice Needed

Hi,

My husband has applied for a Tesco loan for £10,500 paid back over 48 months so that we can consolidate a current loan and credit cards which are currently all in my name.

He received an agreement in principle and they asked to see his last bank statement and 3 months wage slips due to him being paid cash rather than direct bank payment. The interest rate offered to him was 7.9%.

Currently my husband has no outstanding debts, he has 2 credit cards with each having a zero balance and earns roughly £17,000 a year. He has only being with his current employer since August 09.

Today they have informed my husband that they will be writing to his employer for a reference.

What I really want to know is has he actually any chance of this loan going through or is it likely that he will be rejected.

Thanks
Sarah
