Dont know if on right sight but?

Options
I am blind, first of all.
Went of a society today called Henshaws for the blind.
They said that it would be good for me to do a skillstep course.
When speaking to a man he said that doing this would not effect my income support or DLA and I would not need to inform them.
But, when speaking to another person they said that it was means tested and they would need my income support details.
I just wanted to do something to get me out of the house and meet people. But, with my condition which is RP some days I have no vision at all and have light flashes.
The course is for three full days which is like going to college full-time. I really dont want to rock the boat with my benefits.

Doing a course would not affect either income support or DLA. They need to confirm that you are receiving these benefits so you can do the course without paying for it.

If you show them an award letter from the Benefits Agency or something confirming you are getting benefit, that should be enough. They probably won't need to even ask the Benefits Agency if you can do this.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
