Bankrupcy on JSA and no money

Hi my name's Stuart.
I'm currently on JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) and get £120 every fortnight.
I've got around £20,000 of debt and can't afford to pay it off.
Problem is I want to go bankrupt but can't afford to. what can I do about this.
Also, I'm starting Uni in September 2010, so I'm not going to be able to afford to pay this off later best thing I can do is go bankrupt.
Can I get financial help with all or some of the cost of going bankrupt?

Hi stuart and welcome to the BR forum.
I can see your problems.
Firstly to go BR you must have taken advice, Judge allways asks this.
So first port of call is speak to one of the debt charity CAB or CCCS they are both free.
Secondly people on JSA can get help with the court fees see HMCS internet for help.
Also there are some charitys that can help I will try and find links.
Ask any questions you are not alone

You can get the court fee waived which saves you £150 but you will still need to find £450 for bankruptcy. There are some charities that can help under certain criteria.
Failing that make a note of what you can sell to raise the funds or sneaky tactic, use credit to pay the fee?0 -
