Black Horse Finance

Hi All

I need a bit of advise. I took out a loan with them in 2004 and missed a few payments in the end they took me to court in 2005 and obtained a CCJ against me, in 2007 I paid the solicitors deailing with the case a settlement figure and my credit file was marked as satisifed job done or so i thought. In December 2009 i checked my credit file every month like i do and notice that Black Horse have put 3 years worth of defaults onto my file. I've spoken to them and have been told to write in. Now obviously i'll be sending everything recorded delivery but i'm really aggrivated by this, is there anything else i can do, is it illegal for them to do this?

AFAIK they can go on defaulting you if you did not pay off the loan in full, even if they mark the file 'satisfied'. This is to warn other lenders that you are a poor risk. Their reasoning is that if you've screwed them once, you're likely to do it again.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • oh ok never knew that, i though once it was piad or satisfied that was the end of it. thanks

AFAIK means 'as far as I know'. I may well be wrong - wait until an expert comes along here before making any decision. There's a poster called Clapton who seems to know a lot about this stuff.

I am waiting to find out if I have my 7.5k loan from them ??? debt consolidation paid back over 3 yrs and one easy pymt. Saving myself at least £200 p/m

Oddly I thought Black Horse make you go into a local branch, with all your evidence etc..... I did it all over the phone with their headquarters in Wales.

I was told I was accepted and had passed the Credit check....all going well me thinks. I was duly sent the paperwork next day and asked to supply my wage slip and ID eg driving licence OR passport which I have.

Now the worrying bit....read a few dodgy reviews on them, with people being told Yip loan will all be yours shortly......then getting Knocked back once they had sent their paperwork in.

So I called them with regards to this, the girl who had dealt with me originally
stated that I had been agreed in principle credit search done on me and also passed AND the only way I would be refused is if my financial details didn't match to what i'd originally told her ( my monthly wage ) which it does match and is in fact more.

Still can't help feeling that they will refuse me after reading soooo many reviews.

Ooops...forgot to add..she stated they would give me individual checks to pay off my debtors(which is fine by me) and also asked me to get an early settlement figure from my current loan which i duly did.
Does anyone have prior knowledge or dealings with them ??? Sent the paperwork back Friday last week.
