I'ld be a little cautious about upgrading your bank account... will there be a monthly charge for this?
Ask your bank for a credit card.... doesn't matter about the APR as you should use it regularly for things you buy anyway and pay in full each month (set up a DD to pay in full); this will improve your credit rating after a few months.
as you have spare money to pay the loan then start saving this seriously and save up as much as possible; you can get a car for a lot less than 50000 -
Why on earth does everyone want to loan £5000 - £7000 for a bloody car?!?!
Most I spent on a car was £1300 (+ £500 replacement engine and £250 new steering rack -damn Ka)
Current car cost £200, has done 125,000 miles and does the job just fine. It's a box to get you from A to B, not worth getting into debt for.0
