Hard Toffee

I have some really hard toffee (it was a gift) and was wondering if there was anything I could do to soften it a bit to make it 'chewable' rather than 'suckable'.
I was going to heat it in a saucepan and beat it for a while to try and get some air into it and possible add some condensed milk during the process but I am unsure if this would work or if I am as well just throwing it away.
Any suggestions welcome (be nice)

Not sure your plan would work, but I can't think of what else would! Perhaps instead of condensed milk a bit of butter / cream might help?Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

What about a few minutes in the microwave on a low setting . You'd probably have to eat it straight away though. Now proud Mumto3 :j0

No suggestions to make it softer but couldn't you pass it on to someone else as a gift who does like hard toffee?0

I'm far from an expert but I'd be careful about heating and eating it straight after, I imagine it's capable of easily getting very very hotYes Your Dukeiness0

Not sure you could make it softer, as heating it up is more likely to make it even harder when it cools. If it's brittle, maybe popping it into a blender and make a toffee sugar which you could use, or you could melt it into some cream and make a sauce to go over ice cream or something like that.0
