Whats the best/cheapest way of buying from USA when the company do not ship to the UK

Hi,

Basically, I want to get a few bits from the Ralph Lauren website, but they do not ship to the UK,

whats the best/cheapest way to get them?

Have them sent to a Mail forwarding company?

Personal shopper?

A friend of mine said he has heard of a company on eBay, who order stuff for you, add a small fee, then forward it to you, but do it via eBay for peace of mind.

Or even better... any of you live in the States and want to forward it to me at a cost?

Many thanks in advance!

Charlie

Cheapest way would probably be a cheap flight over there and make a weekend of it too :)

I'd agree- there are services that can mail stuff out to you if you order something which cannot be sent to you direct, but they cost so much- like £30 service and THEN you have the additional shipping charge and tax and customs....it just makes it not worth it anymore.

Another idea is to see if any of your friends know of someone over there or who is going over there, ask them nicely...

Or failing that, do as I have done several times now, do the leg work to find the prices (and links), email the company beg plead and ask if they will ship abroad to you as you are a major fan..etc love their stuff...there is nothing like it in the UK....you would be so happy/estatic/over the moon.... and see if you get anywhere- they can only say no.

I'd agree with this, I tried it with a company and whilst I got no response they started shipping to the UK shortly after. May have just been coincidence but I doubt I was the only person in the UK to ask. If you don't ask you don't get after all ;)

I may try that, cant see it working with a big firn like Ralph Lauren, as they have shops over here, just, America gets it all a year earlier and cheaper.

    Thanks guys! :)
