Scotcall (on behalf of EGG) - Doorstep Collector has just visited!!!!!

Please Please can someone help me, I have just had a visit from Scotcall at my door!!! I have had nothing but hassle with EGG, they ignore every letter I send, I have been sending them regular monthly payments (which this chap confirmed) of £100 which is much more than we can actually afford, as a sign of goodwill and a commitment to pay.
10 days ago I sent a CCA request to EGG and have heard nothing.
I have received all sorts of threatening letters from Capital Credit Agencies and now this numpty turns up from EGG.....came to my door, all of this upsetting for the kids on Easter Hols, and went off to ring EGG, came back again and agreed that until we made contact on the phone with EGG (NEVER!!!!), he will continue to come back (even though it's a long long way he moaned!!) - not as far as it is for my husband, who he came to see, he is in the Armed Forces abroad.
How the hell can I deal with this bunch of idiots, I have asked for communication in writing only, no doorstep collector, and continued to pay a monthly payment.
WHAT NEXT????? I am just so upset and shaking and the kids don't know what to think?????:(
Any advice PLEASE!!!!

have you sent your letters recorded delivery?

if so i would raise a offical complient to Egg about this as if you have sent the letter they have to follow the request, and any DCA who is collecting for them also has to follow them.

quick edit - just remember these door stop collectors have NO power and NO right to be on your property, and if they do not leave when requested you CAN call the police to have them removed

quick edit #2 when did you send the letters as well, because there is a 'grace' period in which they are still allowed to contact you on the phone and in person between sending a only contact me by letter, letter and them actually complying, to give the companies the time to recieve and process the letter

quick edit #3 - god i really should proof read before i hit post, have you contacted one of the debt charities for some help and advice? if not i would suggest this as another priority, general ones which get good reviews are the CAB, CCCS and national Debt line, Payplan and christians against povaty are also good

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

I have sent them so many letters, recorded delivery, they are just ignoring me, I am so sad :-(((( The only communication, apart from the standard letters, is the return of the £1.00 PO because I sent it to Capital Credit Agencies, whom I was led to believe were dealing with the account after EGG passed it on.

I will sent a an official complaint with copies of everything I have sent them, do I sent this to EGG, Capital Credit Agencies or Scotcall?

this depends on who OWNS the debt, have you recieved any letters saying the debt has been sold on?

if you havent Egg should still own it and the companies you are dealing with are actually working on behalf of Egg, so it is down to them to sort it out,

remember to head your letter in bold block capitals COMPLAINT just so who ever opens it knows exactly what it is ;) and i would suggest that you post the content of the letter up on this forum for people to have a quick read through to try and spot areas to improve it (of course remove everything that is specific to you)

Just to confirm all letters I have received from Capital Credit Agencies, ResolveCall, now the doorstep numpty from Scotcall all say they are acting on behalf of EGG. I assume that 1 complaint to EGG will sort the lot?????

Yes, complain to Egg. Also, I would get onto the Finacial Ombudsman Service and lodge a complaint there. I usually call the FOS, and they either (depending on how good the operator who answers is) fill out and process the complaint there and then or they post the complaint out to you.

Call the FOS today, then, in your letter to Egg, state in thick red letters that as they haven't responded to your requests or complaints and they are now harrassing you, you have had to contact the FOS, and that you will be taking this matter further.

Good luck, keep calm, and fight them with the help on here and also have a look on cosumer action group.

PS - I know how scary this can be to deal with on your own. My husband is in the forces too and I'm left to deal with all the cr*p that comes our way too. If you need to chat, PM me. x

Contact FOS and OFT, over Eggs actions.

With regards to return the £1 PO cheque for i assume a CCA. It is wrong they have to carry it out.

Its in the CCA Law - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2226465

Yes Egg returned the £1.00 PO as it was made payable to Capital Credit Agencies, who have been sending all the threats!

Please can anyone advise on the complaint letter that I have written to send to EGG - any key words that need to be added/or any rubbish I have written that needs to be taken out???

    COMPLAINT

I am writing to file an official complaint with the failure in many parts of the debt repayment programme I am trying to organise and meeting with no success.

I enclose copies of all the previous correspondance sent to you since January, all of which have been ignored. These include continued offers of payment, cheques, income and expenditure forms, hospital reports for my son, letters confirming other companies who accepted my offers 3 months ago. All these letters have been sent and signed for.

I have continued to sent payment of £100, in February and March, both of these cheques were cashed. I have offered an increased payment of £130, this has been ignored.

The letter which we sent recorded delivery on 16th February 2010, stating that I would only communicate in writing and that a doorstep visit should not be made without any appointment, which we do not require, was ignored and a visit was received this morning.

Please confirm why all my letters are ignored and that a repayment programme has not been able to be reached, with charges and interest continuing to be added, 3 months after my initial letter.

A CCA request was sent, recorded delivery 10 days ago, and I have yet to receive a response.

Please confirm receipt of this letter, along with a copy of your complaints procedures and confirmation that communication will be undertaken in writing and the doorstep collector will stop calling.

A copy of this will also be sent to the Office of Fair Trading and the Financial Ombudsman.

Sounds good, but I would change the last setence to something like:

"Due to your continued refusal to come to an amicable arrangement, your refusal to repsod to my complaints and your continued harrassment of my family and me, I wish to inform you that I have today lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman and the Office of Fair Trading."

Then, don't send this letter to the OFT and FOS, but use their complaints procedure. They will ask you for copies of all of your correspondence, and you can then include the letter you are sending today.

    T xx
