Ex Trying to Force me to sell the House

Hello all,
Not quite sure how this works but I will give it a good try anyway!!
Me and my ex split a while ago, I have been living on my own and paying the mortgage by myself for the past 6x Months. I now have my best friend living with me.
My ex wants to sell the house (for selfish spiteful reasons, nothing concrete or good enough to warrant all the hassle being caused. I have offered money and even suggested keeping the name on until I am able to take it off and THEN giving money and also paying any costs involved). I have been to the mortgage advisor who said that I am unable to take the name off the mortgage at this stage due to the negative equity in the house. So the only options really are selling - which as you read on you will see if not feasable - or keeping the name on until able to take it off for a few hundred pounds (transfer of equity I think its called??).
I have been threatened with my lodger being given notice to move out and then for my ex to move back in - which will undoubtedly result in one of us killing the other. None of us want this option BUT my ex really, really wants to sell the house and I feel will do anything to get this result. I on the other hand am being quite soft and dont want it to get that nast. I in no way wish to sell up nor have I any chance in the world of affording the legal fees, let alone the money we will owe the lender due to the negative equity.
Is there anything that I can do to keep the house? My ex does not have a key as is no longer living with me, this is one thing that has been asked for which I feel is inappropriate due to the fact they no longer live there and I now have a lodger.
Any help or advice would be very much welcomed.
Thanks

Is he aware of the negative equity and what it means, does he have half of what he would be required to pay the lender/estate agent/solicitor?0
-
house isnt worth anything... why would he want to sell it now?0

Find out all the costs for selling, solicitors, HIP, estate agents fees (ask the estate agents for the highest % they charge to bump the fee up) ERC on the mortgage posibly.
Then add the negitive equity to this and you have the total you would need to find to sell.
Tell him he would have to pay half of this just to sell, can he find this money?
If he can, tell him you cant find your half, can he find your half as well?
If he can do that too then snap his hand off and get out! If he cant then there is no way you can move so dont worry!
Hope it doesnt get nasty
