I took the day off today and spent 3 hours at the allotment with my friend - just heading up there again with an axe to chop up an old door we found in the undergrowth.

Tomorrow we're driving to Gloucestershire to meet 30 members of my birth family (just traced them a few months ago) and then driving back.

Sunday, more digging at the allotment. If I can rake up all the dead dry stuff, someone has offered to petrol-strim the plot for £2 + 2 packets of chocolate digestives!

So apart from petrol tomorrow and the odd pint of milk, not intending to spend anything.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

    I want Floss's weekend!!
I am starting the weekend tidying up DD's bedroom with her this evening (she is 8) and collecting as much stuff for carbooting as possible for DS1's car boot in a couple of weeks time. He put flyers through the doors of houses round where we live asking for any contributions of old junk for his car boot sale (he is raising money for a trip to S. America next year) The response has been amazing and he has gathered loads of fantastic things to sell and DD has fallen in love with a wooden bird/ornament he has gathered from one of his collections of stuff. He is willing to sell it to her for £2 so I've told her she can earn £2 this weekend helping me clean and tidy the house. I now have a very willing helper!
