Advice needed - return/exchanging catalogue items.

Hi,

I ordered some items from Very using the £20 off a £50 spend and two of the three items don't fit. I still like them and want to exchange them for the correct sizes but on the returns form it says to return the items first and then re-order the items online in the usual way - would this mean I have to pay another £3.95 p&p?

Also if I returned any items without getting an exchange would I end up losing the discount I initially got and end up paying full price?

Thanks in advance.:)

Of course you would have to pay the p&p for a new item. Why should Very take the hit for your mistake of ordering the wrong size.

Ermmm...it wasn't actually a mistake at all. If you read the post I said the items don't fit - I actually ordered the sizes I normally wear but the items they sent me were ridiculously big. How do you expect me to have known this? Its not like I can't try the stuff on before buying like in a normal shop.

I'm not sure why you were compelled to comment at all on this subject.

Oh dear - not the most helpful comment!

I totally agree that the sizes can be odd at times and you never really know until you try it on; how many times have you tried on your usual size in a shop and found you've had to go up/down a size? That's something catalogue companies realise and that's why they offer a quick and free returns service.

Try calling customer service, I'm sure they reordered alternative sizes for me in the past with no extra charge, the courier will often do a 'swap' at your door too!

Because you wanted an answer to your question and I gave it to you. Yes, you will have to pay p&p for the new item. Whether it was you mistake they didn't fit or not is irrelevent. To retain the discount I suppose you could return all 3 items and reorder them again.

Are Very owned by the same people as littlewoods?

I used one of their so much off it you spend so much and none of the items were any good. I returned them all and they credited me the full price cost for each item but didn't take into account the discount so i ended up with a £10 credit on my account.

Another vote for calling customer services, they should be fine about this especially as you are re-ordering different sizes not new items.

Hiya you don't have to pay postage for exchanges if its a straight swap and you will keep your discount if items are the same, but you will have to ring customer services for them to sort the exchange and adjust your account, otherwise it will be a lot more messing with probably more phonecalls to get it right.

The problem occurs when the size you need to exchange to is sold out but best to speak to someone and see what they can do :)
