Credit rating of 985 but can't get a loan!

    The bit that worries me is that you are looking at taking out a long term loan (3 years plus) to pay for a holiday that will be over in a couple of weeks. That really is not very clever.

    I appreciate your concern, thank you.

    However, I am very well aware of the commitment that a loan would entail. I have worked out the minute detail and not only would what I propose to borrow be easily affordable in both the long and short term, if I was able to obtain it at the headline rate quoted then it would save me money.

    You'll note that the main reason for the loan is to consolodate various other (reletively small) debts at far greater rates of interest.

    Perhaps you didn't read my post properly.

    Obviously it appears that despite having an excellent credit rating, a loan at the headline rate is not going to be available, probably due to the fact I have moved address fairly frequently. In which case I will not be getting a loan. Simple.
