    Thanks for the responses!

I've tried mild bath salts - they help while I'm in them, but as soon as I get out, the itching comes right back.

Saw the doctor - they said 'either its an allergy, or you are developing eczma..' - hope its just an allergy, but honestly can't figure out what it could be an allergy to...

They've given me some steroid cream which is helping, but I can only use it on my neck. Picked up some calamine lotion for the rest of the body - eww, that stuff stinks!

Managed to sleep last night though, which is good :)

If it IS eczema, may I commend the National Eczema Society? Also, I know this is hard, but try to train yourself not to scratch. Stroking your skin, or applying lotions from the fridge may help. Because much of the damage in eczema is caused by the scratching, which can even become a habit, and they've seen great improvements in patients who've been trained out of scratching!

BTW, the inlaws had a horrible rash a year or two back - traced it to cheap cheese and onion crisps! Either that, or it coincidentally cleared up when they stopped buying cheap crisps ...
