Negative opinions about Dooyoo are actually true

........At least in my experience.
After writing 271 reviews and being an active member in commenting and rating other reviews, my account was threatened to be closed for "sub standard" reviews.
Early last month, I had reached the 150,000 threshold for a cheque so I wrote to them either early last week or late week before asking where the cheque was after nearly a month of waiting.
Only today have they written to me saying that, because I have two recently locked reviews, they will not send the cheque until I ammend those reviews.
Sound fair?
But wait.
The two recently locked reviews ended with an overall rating of Very Useful!
I have had a DVD review locked before, which was fair enough, as it ended with an overall Somewhat Useful.
I was a relatively new member back then so was still brushing up on my review skills.
Anyway, I had made major changes to the review and after many months, dooyoo still have not unlocked that particular review!
So I feel it is pointless in updating the two recently locked ones.
I have told them that things probably would have been different had I opted for Amazon vouchers and that I have taken Print Screen captures and will be reporting them to Trading Standards and possibly Watchdog!
They had said that my account was due to be closed recently due to those two recently locked reviews but I have received no notification about them and it was only bought to my attention today.
I have also made Product suggestions to the site, which were accepted, and wrote Discussion reviews, where you don't even get paid the 50p!
Yet, they still stab their members in the back.
If you go for a cheque, guys, just a word of warning, they may try everything to not pay you!

It sounds like they have decided to conveniently start disliking your submissions just as you passed the minimum pay.dooyoo.co.uk shall be entitled, at its absolute discretion, to publish, edit, refuse, or delete Content provided to it.
If dooyoo.co.uk decides not to publish any Content provided by you, it will endeavour to notify you of the reasons within 10 days of receipt.
Also getting angry and accusing them they would react differently if you asked for vouchers will just make them less likely to pay you.
You should just attempt to fix your reviews, if they don't like it, ask for further feedback.0 -

True, but I am not asking to be paid anymore and nor am I expecting anything from them with the way they came across in their email so I'm a little past that now.
I'm more infuriated that I spent many months on there for nothing.
If I attempted to fix the reviews, they will probably have something else to moan about or won't even accept the ammendments. I am still waiting for my old Locked review to become unlocked which looks like it never will.
You really have to be on the ball with each and every review on there.
I posted 9 product suggestions on there and rated 886 reviews and so I was an active member and Dooyoo was a very interesting site.
Just a shame they can wriggle out of paying when they feel like it.
I'm glad you dug out their terms as those terms alone tell the public how dodgy they are.0 -
I spent hours doin reviews and got up to a £10 amazon voucher but got nothing. This was a while ago now but i certainly wouldnt recommend them.0

Hi there,
I joined Dooyoo a few weeks ago and have been happily writing reviews on there since. I was told off at the start for posting "duplicate reviews" (some of the content was the same but a little was different for each book, they were a series of cookbooks) by one of the site members, whom I think was a moderator. So I redid them and did at least half of each review showing specific information about each book, then contacted the moderator to check the new reviews were more suitable and was told to leave them alone and move on to do other reviews, which I did. I then realised a few days ago that I couldn't get into my account and contacted dooyoo, only to be told they had closed it due to duplicate reviews!!! I replied saying that if I had been asked, I would have happily deleted them and carried on with other reviews to which I have been sent the following email:
"Thank you for your e-mail.
While we saw the duplicate reviews we also had concerns about the quality of some of your reviews, and also whether you actually owned the products you were reviewing. Some of the reviews you have written do not particularly convince us that you do.
Best regards,
Your dooyooTeam"
I received Very Useful ratings to most of my reviews and so where they get the idea that they are no good from is beyond me, and as for thinking I dont actually own the product, how ridiculous!!! I have replied stating that I will send them photographic evidence of me with the products if they require. I am very angry that I have wasted hours writing for their site and my dooyoo miles were adding up nicely too. I certainly wont be recommending any of my friends to use them.

They may just give you hassle to try and make you forget about it, if you deal with it you may get paid.0

Dooyoo isn't dodgy, I've been a member there for over a year and in that time I've earned over £400 and they've never once backed out of paying me. My mum is a member there too and she's earned about double that and been paid every time.
They are only a smallish company, and sometimes cheques get delayed. I tend to go for Amazon vouchers as they arrive more quickly and you can always sell them on or use them to buy presents for people etc.
If you think those terms and conditions are bad then you've clearly never read any company's before. Paypal's ts and cs, for example, claim that any money you have in your account belongs to them and they can take it - which is worrying for an account most people have a debit or credit card attached to.
Ratings of 'Very Useful' or whatever aren't relevant because they are other members' ratings/opinions, not Dooyoo's. Most members are too scared to rate anything other than VU because of revenge rating, and a lot of people don't bother reading the reviews at all. The only sneakyish thing about DooYoo is that they like people to write a bit more than 150 words, and they don't like people writing hundreds of rubbish reviews with the bare minimum of words with bad spelling, poor opinions etc. Yes, some people on there write 3000 words every time and that's unnecessary. But you have to look at what you've written more objectively - DooYoo isn't thinking 'How much money can I make in fifteen minutes?' like you are, DooYoo is thinking 'How does this content help improve our web presence, help consumers, and help advertisers?' (or should be).
From what you've posted it doesn't sound like your reviews are particularly good to be honest. It's not money for nothing, you have to put some work in. Most people start off really bad - I did - and get a lot better. There's a category with suggestions and tips for writing good reviews, so maybe you should go back to basics and start there.0 -
I have to say I agree with Jennikitten. I have been a member of Dooyoo since 2004 and I have never once had an issue with delays or payments. 271 reviews in a few months is obvious churning and churning benefits no one really in the end. I dont get all involved with the Dooyooers on there, I just write a review, rate a few and fly under the radar, and it always works out fine for me.0

Hi, since reading this thread I decided to join up and have just posted my first review there. Would anyone mind having a look and letting me know what they think - if it's ok? My name there is 'tongueoftruth' (lol) and it's a review of a make-up. I'd appreciate it. I did look at the guidance and the 'crowned' reviews to see what I should be writing, and hope what I've done is going to be useful and entertaining for people.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Awww, I feel so bad for all you people putting in all that effort and getting nothing back for it
that truly sucks.
I really hope something gets done about it / they have a change of conscience. Perhaps if this thread becomes a popular round-up place for everyone who's experienced this shoddy behaviour, then your combined complaints might catalyse some kind of favourable response from this company, once they discover the existance of the thread?
Good luck anyway x0
